Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been speaking about Gabriel Jesus’ recent goal drought and the fans’ perceptions of the striker.
While Jesus hasn’t scored lately, the Brazilian has still been playing very well – hence why Arsenal have been in such brilliant form themselves.
Seaman was in the stands for the Gunners’ game against Nottingham Forest this weekend, and he noted that the supporters were desperate for Jesus to get himself a goal.
Sadly, the striker couldn’t find the back of the net here, and Seaman believes that despite Arsenal’s 5-0 win, the South American’s confidence will have been dented after another game without a goal.

Jesus’ confidence dented
Seaman spoke about Jesus.
“The fans, they were so desperate for Jesus to score. They were saying that his confidence is low because he hasn’t scored for a while and I’m thinking that it might even be a bit lower now because we’ve scored five and he hasn’t scored one. But it was a great all-round performance,” Seaman said.
Should be fine
Seaman says that Jesus’ confidence may be dented after another weekend without a goal, but he should be just fine.
He grabbed two assists against Forest and his team are still at the top of the Premier League – what does he have to worry about?
Yes, he’s not been scoring, but five goals after 12 games is a respectable return this season, and his game is also about so much more than goals.
Jesus has never been a player who has been defined by the number of goals he has or has not been scoring, and we’re sure that he won’t allow his recent drought to affect his all-around performances.
