Some Liverpool fans on social media have found a positive in Alisson after the Reds’ loss to Burnley on Thursday evening.
As you can imagine, the mood around the fanbase on social media was largely negative as Liverpool lost at Anfield for the first time in over three years, but one man who did get a lot of credit for his performance was Alisson.
Perhaps this shows the fact that Liverpool deserved to lose to Burnley, as a goalkeeper receiving a lot of praise is never symptomatic of a team that has played well.
Alisson was one of the only Liverpool players who looked to be at their best against Burnley, making a string of impressive saves, before being beaten by a penalty that sealed the Merseyside club’s fate.
Alisson was the man to give away the penalty that cost Liverpool their unbeaten home record, but fans didn’t seem to hold too much of a grudge about that incident as his overall performance was solid.
The Brazilian was a rare bright spark on a drab evening for the Reds.
