Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool got the better of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
Manchester City headed into the match as favourites and were expected by many to pick up all three points against Liverpool.
However, it was the Merseyside club who ended up with the points.
Mohamed Salah scored the only goal of the match at Anfield in the second half.
Liverpool won 1-0.
City did have chances to win the match, and the defending Premier League champions also had a goal controversially ruled out.
With the score locked at 0-0, England international midfielder Phil Foden scored for City.
However, there was a VAR check, and the goal was ruled out.
Norway international striker Erling Haaland was adjudged to have pulled Brazil international defensive midfielder Fabinho’s shirt in the build-up to the goal.
City striker Haaland then worked the ball free of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson before Foden finished it off.
Alisson did appear to have two hands on the ball when Haaland took it off him.
Former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher has given his take on the disallowed goal, and he believes that it was the right decision.

Gallagher said on Sky Sports: “I think it’s a foul.”
The former Premier League referee added: “I think when you see it, it’s very, very difficult to not say it’s a foul.”
