Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers have been linked with Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes, with Graeme Murty currently in charge of the Gers.
Rangers got the better of Aberdeen 2-1 away from home at the Pittodrie Stadium in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
It was an eventful match in Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack was sent off against his former team.
The home team actually pulled a goal back, but in the end, Graeme Murty’s side managed to pick up all three points from the encounter.
Aberdeen manager McInnes was impressed with the way Rangers defended and told BBC Sport (15:03): “I thought we deserved something from it.
“They defended well and the keeper has made a couple of saves. But it was a really motivated and committed performance.”
Interestingly, Aberdeen boss McInnes has been linked with the managerial role at Scottish Premiership rivals Rangers.
According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers will make a move for McInnes and could have to pay as much as £1 million in compensation.
The result on Sunday afternoon means that Rangers are second in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 30 points from 16 matches, level on points with third-placed Aberdeen and seven behind Old Firm rivals and leaders Celtic, who have a game in hand.
