Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are heavily linked with their former midfielder.

Derek Johnstone is fully behind Rangers’ reported pursuit of Steven Davis.
According to The Belfast Telegraph, Rangers are ‘almost certain’ to re-sign the 33-year-old midfielder, who enjoyed a four-year spell at Ibrox until 2012.
Last week’s defeat by Spurs was Davis’s first start of the season for Southampton, with new manager Ralph Hasenhuttl having no plans for the Northern Irishman.
Davis, who turns 34 in January, won eight major trophies for the Gers during his last stint in Glasgow.
And Johnstone reckons he is exactly the type of character that Rangers boss Steven Gerrard needs at Ibrox.
He told The Glasgow Evening Times: “We need a leader. I would like to see Steven Davis come back, plus another striker is a must.”
What a signing it would be and with Ovie Ejaria seemingly headed for the exit, it would be an important addition.
Gerrard told The Scottish Sun on Friday that he would not prevent Ejaria from returning to parent club Liverpool this month if the unsettled midfielder wanted to.
It hasn’t really worked out for the 21-year-old and although it’s nobody’s fault per se, Rangers don’t need him if Ejaria does not want to be there.
