Glasgow Rangers were beaten at Ibrox by their rivals last time out, leading to criticism of Steven Gerrard after a spell of doing ‘no wrong’.

Glasgow Rangers legend Derek Johnstone has made it clear that Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard will not be fazed or otherwise impacted by the increasing criticism coming his way in wake of the Old Firm derby loss, as per his Glasgow Evening Times column.
Rangers had begun the season in fine form, coasting through the Europa League qualifying rounds to reach the group stage proper, while domestically, they reached the Scottish League Cup third round and, going into the derby at Ibrox, had won all their Scottish Premiership games.
However, the Gers were defeated by their bitter rivals, which led to, as Johnstone said in his column, Gerrard’s tactics and selection being “pulled apart by punters and pundits”, but the Light Blues legend insists the Liverpool legend is not one to let that kind of scrutiny get to him.
Two weeks ago Steven Gerrard could do no wrong in the eyes of the fans,” wrote Johnstone in the Glasgow Evening Times. “Rangers hadn’t lost a game, were equal with Celtic at the top of the Premiership and had qualified for the Europa League group stages.

“And now? Steven is being questioned, his tactics and selection pulled apart by punters and pundits. That won’t faze him or get to him, though. No chance. He is used to that pressure and he certainly knows what life in Glasgow, and at Rangers, is all about.”
Rangers will be eager to get back to winning ways as they gear up for their Scottish Premiership game against Livingston at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon, the visitors third in the table after an unbeaten start to the campaign.
