Rangers legend Derek Johnstone has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he thinks Clint Hill and Danny Wilson will start against Partick Thistle this afternoon.
The Gers are in a difficult spell right now, as results in September were disappointing after 5-1 and 2-1 defeats to Celtic and Aberdeen as well as a 0-0 draw with Ross County.
Rangers’ Clint Hill
Manager Mark Warburton is under pressure right now, and with the situation surrounding Joey Barton’s suspension also hanging over him, Warburton desperately needs a win against Partick Thistle today.
Warburton’s attack is struggling to click at the moment, but his defence is also failing, as Rangers look vulnerable against their top Scottish Premiership rivals, and Warburton has yet to really settle on a central defensive partnership.
Rob Kiernan and Danny Wilson were Warburton’s first-choice partnership last season, but Rangers swooped to bring in veteran centre backs Clint Hill and Philippe Senderos in an attempt to solidify their back line – but neither have really impressed so far.

Ahead of today’s game, Rangers legend Derek Johnstone has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he thinks Warburton will go with Wilson and Hill as his starting centre backs today, having featured against Aberdeen alst weekend.
Johnstone suggested that both Kiernan and Senderos will be in contention, but feels that Warburton can’t afford to keep changing his defence.
Rangers’ Philippe Senderos looks dejected
“Danny Wilson and Clint Hill started together for the third successive game against Aberdeen last weekend and I think they will be the centre-backs for the visit of Partick Thistle on Saturday,” said Johnstone.
“Rob Kiernan and Philippe Senderos played in the Development League fixture with Hibernian in midweek and both will be vying for a place in the side at Ibrox. But you can’t keep chopping and changing things at the back and I think Mark will stick with Wilson and Hill and give them another go together,” he added.
