Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have a great young player in Ross McCrorie.

Derek Johnstone has told The Glasgow Evening Times that he hopes Rangers boss Steven Gerrard keeps Ross McCrorie in central midfield.
The 20-year-old started Thursday night’s 2-0 Europa League win over FK Shkupi at Ibrox and played the full 90 minutes in a holding role.
McCrorie has often played central defensive for Rangers since breaking into the senior squad last season.
But Johnstone, who has enjoyed two spells at Ibrox as a player, is certain that the youngster is best used in the middle.
“James Tavernier was really good and got man of the match, however, I thought Ross McCrorie was Rangers’ best player,” he told The GET.
“I have said it often enough in this column that the lad, as good as he is, was never a centre-half and it was interesting to see Gerrard saying that he felt the same thing.
“The lad is a midfielder and a very good one at that.”
Johnstone is spot-on, but if Gerrard continues with McCrorie in a sitting role, which he certainly should, then it puts Greg Docherty and Ryan Jack in an awkward position.
Both are also defensive midfielders, but does Gerrard really need three of the same type of player? Arguably not and therefore it’ll be interesting to see who the Rangers manager prefers as McCrorie’s understudy.
Jack had an up-and-down first season in Glasgow after joining from Ibrox last summer, with much of it decimated by injury, while Docherty had a very good second half to the campaign after joining from Hamilton in January.
