Billy Gilmour has left Ibrox outfit Glasgow Rangers for Premier League club Chelsea.

Derek Johnstone has praised Rangers in The Glasgow Evening Times for letting Billy Gilmour leave for Chelsea.
Premier League giants Chelsea have recently signed Gilmour from Scottish Premiership outfit Rangers.
The 15-year-old midfielder was on the radar of Manchester United, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona among other clubs before his move to Chelsea, according to The Sun.
According to Sky Sports, the Blues will pay Rangers a £500,000 development fee to sign highly-rated Gilmour.
Rangers legend Johnstone, who is 63 years of age, has praised Rangers for letting Gilmour leave for Chelsea and for making a good deal.

“Rangers did the right thing here,” Johnstone wrote about Gilmour in The Glasgow Evening Times. “They did their best to keep him but once a player says that he wants to go then there is nothing that you can do.
“It is then about getting the best deal possible and that is what Rangers have done. They were going to lose him anyway so to get around £500,000, plus add-ons, is good business.
“Billy is going to a system with a lot of good players and it will be difficult for him to make the breakthrough but I am sure everyone at Rangers will want to see him succeed.”
Gilmour is a very talented and highly rated teenage midfielder, and Rangers did the right thing by not stopping him from leaving for Chelsea.
The youngster will be looking to progressing in the youth academy at the London club, and perhaps in the coming years he will break into the first-team squad at Stamford Bridge.
