Liverpool winger Ryan Kent was on loan at Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers last season.
Ryan Kent at Rangers
Rangers manager Gerrard has told The Daily Mail that he wants to sign Kent for the 2019-20 campaign.
The winger spent last season on loan at Rangers from Premier League club Liverpool.
Rangers legend Johnstone hopes that the 22-year-old should choose the Gers for next season.
Johnstone wrote about Kent in The Glasgow Evening Times: “Steven Gerrard has made his position clear. He wants him at Rangers and he has done and said everything that he can.
“It is now down to Ryan to sort out his situation at Liverpool and then decide what he wants to do next if it is clear he has to move on again.
“If that is on loan again, I would imagine Rangers would be his choice and hopefully Steven and the supporters get the news that they want sooner rather than later.”

Good signing for Rangers?
Kent played well for Rangers last season, and there is no surprise why manager Gerrard wants the 22-year-old winger again for the 2019-20 campaign.
The Liverpool youngster has pace and is tricky, and him playing for Rangers again next season will enhance their chances of challenging bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title.
According to WhoScored, the winger made 25 starts and two substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers last season, scoring six goals in the process.
