Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers appear to be closing in on the signing of Connor Goldson.

Derek Johnstone has told The Glasgow Evening Times he is hopeful that Rangers can sign Connor Goldson.
Rangers are in the market for a centre-back this summer and new manager Steven Gerrard has been linked with a number of names, including Gareth McAuley and Martin Skrtel.
But the Brighton & Hove Albion stalwart, who stands at 6’3, appears to be the most likely option at the moment.
According to The Daily Record, the 25-year-old will fly to Glasgow this week to undergo a medical ahead of a £3 million move to Ibrox.

And Johnstone, who had two spells with the Gers, reckons that Goldson represents everything that Rangers need.
“Hopefully we can get the deal for Connor Goldson over the line in the coming days and he can become an integral part of the team,” he told The Glasgow Evening Times.
“I have been saying for years that we needed a big, strong, solid centre-half in the team. We needed a Tam Forsyth, someone, with the greatest of respect to Tam, that takes no prisoners.
“Goldson seems to fit that bill and Steven Gerrard will have known that he had to add a bit of height and physicality to the team.”
Rangers already have someone of Goldson’s mould in the form of Bruno Alves, but the powerful Portuguese defender turns 37 in November and it would be somewhat negligible by Gerrard if he wasn’t planning for life without the World Cup-bound star.
