Glasgow Rangers defender Lee Wallace is out of contract at Ibrox in the summer of 2019.
Lee Wallace of Rangers
Johnstone, who played for Rangers in the 1970s and 1980s and is an Ibrox legend, believes that if a club want to sign Wallace this month, then the 31-year-old left-back should seriously consider the offer.
Johnstone wrote about Wallace in The Glasgow Evening Times: “I have no doubt that he would want to stay at the club but if someone comes in for him this month he should think about taking the opportunity to get back on the park.
“He has to seriously think about it. He will want to play week in week out but that isn’t going to happen for him at Rangers. So a move is the best thing for him.”

Rangers struggles
Wallace has been on the books of Rangers since the summer of 2011 when he joined from Heart of Midlothian for a transfer fee reported by The Scotsman to be worth £1.5 million.
The 31-year-old left-back – who is out of contract at Rangers in the summer of 2019, according to Transfermarkt.com – has struggled for playing time for the Gers so far this season.
The former Hearts star is unlikely to establish himself in Steven Gerrard’s starting lineup anytime soon, and the defender should look at moving to a club – even on loan, if possible – where he will stand a better chance of playing.
