Glasgow Rangers defender Danny Wilson is reportedly on the verge of leaving Graeme Murty’s Ibrox club.

Danny Wilson of Rangers heads the ball during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox Stadium on December 31, 2016 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Danny Wilson looks set to leave Rangers… again. The 26-year-old central defender started his professional club football career at the Gers and left for Liverpool in 2010.

The central defender could not make a massive impact at Liverpool and returned to Scotland in 2013, signing for Heart of Midlothian on a permanent contract after a loan spell at Tynecastle Park.

The 26-year-old centre-back enjoyed a good time at Hearts and earned the move back to Rangers in the summer of 2015 when Mark Warburton was in charge of the Gers.

Wilson has done relatively well at Rangers and has established himself as an important player under current Ibrox manager Graeme Murty, but it seems that he wants to leave.

Danny Wilson of Rangers arrives at the ground during the Scottish Championships match between Greenock Morton FC and Rangers at Cappielow Park on September 27, 2015 in Greenock, Scotland.

According to The Scottish Sun, the central defender is on the verge of joining Major League Soccer outfit Colorado Rapids and underwent a medical on Friday.

Rangers legend Derek Johnstone has given his take on Wilson’s impending move away from Ibrox and to MLS.

Johnstone wrote about Wilson in The Glasgow Evening Times: “If he doesn’t see his future at Rangers, then you wish him well for the next stage of his career and thank him for his efforts.

“He has played well overall this season but he has maybe looked at the other centre-halves in the squad and looked ahead to the summer and questioned where he sees himself next year.”

“Danny has been a good professional for Rangers and he has done his bit during his two spells at Ibrox,” added Johnstone. “But, if he wants to go, I don’t think the fans will see it as a big deal.”
