Rangers will take on Celtic at Ibrox in the Old Firm derby in a few hours’ time.
Former Rangers midfielder midfielder Ferguson believes that Celtic wingers Johnston and Forrest will be a handful for Gerrard’s team.
Ferguson has also been impressed with the progress made by 20-year-old winger Johnston and has praised his performance defensively against AIK in the Europa League qualifier on Thursday evening.
Meanwhile, former Rangers striker Kris Boyd has claimed in The Scottish Sun that midfielder Scott Brown is the only leader left in the Celtic team.
Ferguson said about Johnston on Open Goal: “He is learning the game, him tracking back, caught a few attacks.”
Ferguson added: “I just think Johnston and Forrest are going to be a handful for Rangers on Sunday.”
Boyd wrote about Brown in The Scottish Sun: “Scott Brown will lead the Hoops into the Ibrox cauldron on Sunday for the first Old Firm derby of the season.
“He knows this isn’t a contest for tippy-tappy players — or for the faint-hearted. It’s a day for stout hearts and for leaders of men to come to the fore. But, for me, Broony is the ONLY leader left in Celtic’s team.”

Key players
Johnston’s progress in recent times has been superb, and it is very likely that the youngster will start against Rangers this afternoon.
With Johnston and Forrest as the two wingers in the Old Firm derby, Celtic will be a huge attacking threat for Rangers, and it will be interesting to see how the Gers defence cope with it.
As for Brown, the Scotsman remains one of the best combative midfielders in the Scottish Premiership, and his huge experience and leadership qualities could make the difference in the middle of the park.
