Jermain Defoe is the main striker at Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers for now.

Derek Ferguson believes that Rangers boss Steven Gerrard should axe Alfredo Morelos from his first XI when his suspension ends.
Morelos, a £1 million signing in 2017 [The Scottish Sun], picked up his fifth red card of the season last month when the fiery hitman elbowed Scott Brown during the first half of an Old Firm derby which Rangers lost.
The Colombian marksman was issued a four-match suspension and will not be eligible to play for Gerrard’s side until the Premiership splits up.
He will, however, be available to face Celtic in the next Glasgow derby this season, but Ferguson, who spent seven years at Ibrox, says that the 37-year-old manager should continue with Jermain Defoe up front instead of ushering Morelos back immediately.
“I just think he got ahead of himself and if he thinks he can get straight into that team, I think just leave him out for a wee bit and let’s see how Rangers go on [without him],” he told Open Goal.
“There was a nice balance to Rangers with Defoe up there and [Scott] Arfield getting past him.
“So sometimes other players show up a little bit better. No, I wouldn’t put him straight back into the team.”
Ferguson might have a point too. Defoe scored in the 3-0 win over Hearts earlier this month and looks to be playing well overall.
The 37-year-old hasn’t had many opportunities to spearhead the light Blues’ attack due to Morelos being Gerrard’s first-choice marksman, but the 22-year-old can’t have many complaints if he is playing second fiddle to the legendary striker when he returns.
