Pedro Caixinha’s Glasgow Rangers won against Hamilton Academical away from Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.
Rangers returned to winning ways on Friday evening with a 4-1 victory over Hamilton Academical away from home at the SuperSeal Stadium.
Pedro Caixinha’s side headed into the Scottish Premiership match against Hamilton on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Celtic at Ibrox in the Old Firm derby.
The Gers fell behind in the very first minute when Danny Redmond found the net for the home team, but the Glasgow giants launched a stirring comeback and picked up all three points from the encounter.
Wales international left-back Declan John scored twice for the visiting team, and Daniel Candeias and Graham Dorrans added a goal apiece.
Rangers ended the game with 10 men due to the sending-off of Ryan Jack in the 54th minute.
The win against Hamilton means that Rangers are now third in the Scottish Premiership table with 14 points from eight matches.
Former Rangers and Hamilton midfielder Derek Ferguson, 50, was following the match, and he was not too impressed with the performance produced by Caixinha’s team.
“I’m trying to fathom this game out,” Ferguson told BBC Sport (21:40). “For the Accies, it’s as poor a performance as I’ve witnessed but in the second half they missed a penalty through Bingham, Boyd had a header saved and Botti Biabi had two great chances inside the box.
“On another day it could have been 4-4. From a Rangers perspective, I wasn’t too impressed. They have rolled their sleeves up and they’ve got the result.
“Maybe it will take the pressure off Pedro Caixinha but one or two Rangers fans were gesturing to me there at the end that they expect better.”
