James Tavernier has been at Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers since 2015.
James Tavernier of Rangers
Tavernier has been on the books of Rangers since the summer of 2015 when he joined from Wigan Athletic for a transfer fee reported by The Scottish Sun to be worth £200,000 and when Mark Warburton was in charge of the Gers.
The former Newcastle United right-back has established himself as a key figure in the Rangers team and is also the captain of the Glasgow giants.
Former Rangers midfielder Ferguson thinks that Tavernier is a decent player, but he does not think that the 27-year-old is captain material for the Ibrox club.
Ferguson said on Open Goal: “Don’t think he is a captain. I think he is a decent player, I don’t think he is a captain for Rangers.”

Stats
Tavernier has made 33 starts and one substitute appearance in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers this season, scoring 11 goals in the process, according to WhoScored.
The defender has also played twice in the Scottish League Cup this campaign, and in six Europa League games, the right-back scored one goal and provided one assist, according to WhoScored.
