Derby manager Gary Rowett has a big decision to make on Callum Guy as Port Vale reveal interest.
Derby County manager Gary Rowett
Port Vale manager Michael Brown has admitted that he would like to bring Callum Guy back to the club next season after impressing on-loan in 2016/17.
The midfielder made 11 appearance for the Valiants after joining the club in January, but had his time cut short in March following an injury.
Nevertheless, Brown clearly saw enough in Guy to want to bring him back to Vale Park for 2017/18 following his side’s relegation to Sky Bet League Two.
“Gary Rowett will want to see him for a couple of weeks and then we will see where we are with him. But I am sure Derby will try to help us where they can; Callum enjoyed his time here,” the 40-year-old told the Stoke Sentinel.
“It is out of our control. It is whether players want to play in League Two and whether the club will let them come to us.”

It is unclear whether Brown wants Guy on another loan deal or permanently, although the 20-year-old is under contract at Pride Park.
Either way, though, Rams boss Gary Rowett will have a big decision to make on whether he wants the promising youngster to be playing fourth tier football or if he deserves a chance in the Derby first team.
Guy has been impressing in the youth leagues for the past three seasons and despite generally operating as a central midfielder, has an impressive record of 11 goals in 55 appearances.
