The Rams man has barely featured under Frank Lampard but has taken the captain’s armband at the Lions.

Derby County defender Alex Pearce has expressed his hopes that playing regular Championship football again will lead to him earning a recall to the Republic of Ireland squad.
The Rams man has been on loan at Millwall since January after a difficult first half of the campaign, playing just one minute of league football under Frank Lampard according to Transfermarkt.
After switching to The Den, it took a while for Pearce to find his feet and warmed the Lions bench at first, but he was then drafted into the starting XI against Bolton Wanderers and he has now played the last eight games and even taken the captain’s armband (Transfermarkt).
Pearce, who was born in Oxfordshire but qualifies through his grandparents, has not played for the Republic of Ireland since featuring in a 1-0 defeat to Iceland at the Aviva Stadium in March 2017.

Asked by Football London whether he thinks his form can him back into the international picture and allow him to add to his seven caps, Pearce said: “Hopefully, yeah. That’s not for me to say on that one, but obviously it’s a privilege to represent my country and will do whenever asked with 110 percent.”
Pearce’s contract at Derby expires at the end of the season (Transfermarkt), and the Derby Telegraph claims he is unlikely to play for the Rams again, while there is little to report in terms of potential future destinations.
