Derby County defender Jayden Bogle made his first ever appearance in an England shirt as he featured in the Under-20s 4-0 win over Guatemala at the Maurice Revello Tournament.

The 18-year-old has had a 12 months to remember, breaking into the Rams squad and becoming a first-team ace for Frank Lampard’s side en route to the Championship playoff final.

Bogle made 50 appearances in all competitions for Derby, including 43 in the league and playoffs, and registered an impressive nine assists according to Transfermarkt.

To cap off an incredible 2018-19, Bogle played the full 90 minutes – with club teammate Max Lowe also in the XI – as the Young Lions ended a disappointing tournament on a high note.

A brace from OH Leuven’s George Hirst and goals from Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah and Burnley’s Dwight McNeil confirmed the victory for England in the final placing match in Mallemort.

The result means that Paul Simpson’s side secure ninth place in the final rankings, following on from their three group-stage defeats over the last week against Japan, Portugal and Chile.

Bogle took to social media after the game to express his delight at winning his maiden England cap:

Some Derby fans congratulated him and wished him well for next season, for club and country:
