The Rams youngster put in a good display for Phillip Cocu’s side at Pride Park against the Baggies.

A number of Derby County fans have taken to Twitter to praise Jason Knight’s display for the Rams in their 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion in Saturday’s early Championship kickoff at Pride Park.
The 18-year-old midfielder was handed his first league start by Rams boss Phillip Cocu and he repaid his manager handsomely with an energetic, hungry and composed display in the middle of the park.
Knight had featured briefly in three Championship games prior to Saturday and only made his full Derby debut in the Carabao Cup last week (Transfermarkt) but already he is impressing enough for some Rams fans to tip him for a bright future in the XI.
Here is what some Derby fans said about the teenager during and after the game against the Baggies:
Derby opened the scoring through Martyn Waghorn’s early penalty after being brought down by Kieran Gibbs, but the striker missed a second spot kick later in the first half, and when Max Lowe was controversially deemed to have fouled Matheus Pereira late on for a West Brom penalty, Kenneth Zohore sent Kelle Roos the wrong way for a point apiece.
Up next for the Rams is Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup second-round trip to bitter rivals Nottingham Forest.
