The Rams midfielder had been at Pride Park since 2015 but flattered to deceive and has now joined fellow Championship side Luton Town.

A number of Derby County fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the news that Jacob Butterfield has joined fellow Championship side Luton Town on a permanent basis (official Derby website).
The 29-year-old midfielder, who joined the Rams from Huddersfield Town in the summer of 2015, has completed the switch to Kenilworth Road after a recent trial period with the Hatters.
Butterfield, who spent time on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and Bradford City during the last two seasons, made 89 appearances for Derby in total and scored nine times.
The former Barnsley and Huddersfield man, whose Derby deal was mutually terminated has agreed an undisclosed-length deal and becomes the Hatters’ seventh signing of this summer’s window, according to BBC Sport.
Here is what some of the Pride Park faithful said on social media about Butterfield’s departure:
Butterfield could line up against his old side on 5 October, when Luton visit Derby’s Pride Park, and again on 25 January, when the Rams travel to Kenilworth Road.
