The Rams academy graduate has left Pride Park to join the Seasiders on a permanent basis.

A number of Derby County fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on Rams academy graduate Calum Macdonald leaving Pride Park permanently for Blackpool (official Derby website).
As confirmed by a statement on Derby’s website as well as the Tangerines’ official website, the Under-23s left-back has joined the League One side on an initial two-year deal with an additional a 12-month option.
The 21-year-old failed to make a first-team appearance for Derby, but did feature in the EFL Trophy with their Under-21 side, and also spent time on loan at Barrow in 2017-18.
An ever present in Premier League 2 with Derby’s Under-23s and winner of the Player of the Year award in that category in 2016-17, Macdonald was also named on their first-team bench on a number of occasions and has also represented Scotland at Under-21 level.
Here is what some Derby fans said on social media regarding the defender’s departure from Pride Park to Bloomfield Road:
Blackpool are next in action on Saturday when they host Portsmouth at Bloomfield Road in League One, while the Rams lock horns with local rivals Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
