Tom Lawrence has emerged as a reported option for four Premier League clubs before the end of January – including Newcastle and Wolves. Derby fans have reacted on Twitter to the news, naming their price.

Lawrence, 28, has been in superb form as Derby rally to save their Championship status – despite a 21-point deduction. Financial issues continue to haunt the club and it might be, that Lawrence has to be sold.

Indeed, the Wales international is out of contract at the end of the season and accepting a bid for the attacker now – would ease some financial concerns. However much that is, though, remains to be seen.

TeamTalk report that four Premier League clubs are in the chase in the form of Newcastle, Wolves, Brighton and Burnley. TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook follows that up by saying Bournemouth, Blackburn and QPR are also keen.

What are Derby fans saying as Newcastle, Wolves eye Lawrence?

Lawrence is clearly good enough for the Premier League. He has shown enormous quality and consistency in the Championship – with just one more game to go before he clocks up 250 at this level.

In that time, he has had a hand in 84 – a goal involvement every three games. Scoring 46, he has laid on 38 assists. A stunning total for a winger. Hardly a surprise that Premier League clubs are calling.

Derby fans discussed the future of their skipper on Twitter as the race for the ex-Manchester United man hots up. Some identified the fee they want for him, while others are against his exit.
