Derby County youngster Luke Thomas is reportedly heading for talks with West Ham United, and the majority of the Rams fans are not impressed.

A number of Derby fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports emerging from Gloucestershire Live which have suggested that Luke Thomas has left the Rams’ pre-season training camp early after being given permission to hold talks with West Ham.

Thomas has barely been seen in the first-team at Pride Park. He made two substitute appearances for the Rams last season, but was actually only on the pitch for a matter of minutes in total. Nevertheless, he has seemingly caught West Ham’s eye.

According to Gloucestershire Live, West Ham have now been given permission to begin talks with the young midfielder, and he has left Frank Lampard’s squad in Tenerife to meet with the Irons.

Manuel Pellegrini has already added three players to his first-team this summer, and it will be interesting to see whether he plans to add Thomas to the senior squad immediately if talks prove successful and he ends up making the move to the London Stadium.

It certainly appears that plenty of the Derby fans seem to think that he could prove to be a success with the Irons, as many have taken to Twitter to express their anger on social media at the prospect of Thomas being sold.

There are some who feel that losing Thomas will not turn out to be a major blow to the Rams – with many pointing to how little he actually played last term – but the majority appear to be extremely disappointed by the reports and hope that they prove to be incorrect.
