The Rams captain admits that he is set for an “extended spell on the sidelines” after being stretchered off due to an Achilles injury at the Bet365 Stadium.

Derby captain Curtis Davies has spoken out on the achilles injury he picked up against Stoke City on Wednesday night.
The 33-year-old centre-back, who has made just four Championship appearances this term, started against the Potters at the Bet 365 Stadium.
However, Davies had to be carried off on a stretcher just before the break, Fikayo Tomori taking his place as the Rams fell to a 2-1 defeat against former manager Gary Rowett.
The Derby defender missed almost two months after damaging his hamstring in the opening-day win at Reading and has been on the fringes of the squad following his return.
Rams manager Frank Lampard told reporters at Thursday’s press conference – as reported by the club’s official feed – that he “fears” for the injured Davies.
The skipper then took to social media to confirm that he faces an extended spell on the sidelines and will see a specialist on Friday:
The bad news was received with a heavy heart by many Derby fans, some of whom took to Twitter to pay tribute to Davies and wish him a speedy recovery:
Some Derby fans expressed their anger regarding boos seemingly being heard around the ground as Davies was being stretchered off:
Davies joined Derby from Hull City in July last year and has made 52 appearances for the Rams.
