Derby County claimed a morale-boosting 1-0 win over Blackpool on Saturday afternoon as former Arsenal talent Luke Plange found the net.

Derby see off Blackpool in 1-0 win

There hasn’t been much for Derby fans to shout about in recent times.

Docked 21 points in the Championship this season, Derby sit bottom of the table with just four points.

Relegation to League One looks inevitable and there is no new owners at Pride Park just yet.

Wayne Rooney has done an unbelievable job with this team and Saturday’s win over Blackpool will buoy fans.

Plange scored the only game of the game in his first senior start. Plange reacted quickest to score from close range after Kamil Jozwiak’s shot hit the post.

That was enough for Derby to win, with Plange taking a lot of the praise.

Derby fans hail former Arsenal talent Plange

Plange was in the Arsenal ranks before being released by the Gunners last season.

Derby swooped in to take Plange on trial, and having impressed, the Rams gave him a permanent deal.

Now up in Rooney’s first team, Plange hit five goals and three assists in just 10 Premier League 2 outings.

Having scored in his first Championship game, Derby fans have been praising Plange as a ‘serious talent’.

Some think Plange has a ‘massive future’ ahead of him, and the striker will no doubt hope to prove Arsenal wrong for letting him go.
