A number of Derby County fans have replied to Harry Wilson’s Twitter message after the Liverpool ace and 2018-19 Rams loanee joined Bournemouth on loan for the season (BBC Sport).

The 22-year-old impressed on loan at Pride Park last season, scoring 18 goals and registering six assists in 49 appearances in all competitions to finish as the club’s top scorer, according to Transfermarkt.

Wilson was crucial not only in helping Derby secure a Championship top-six finish and eventually reach the playoff final, but also in helping the Rams make progress in the cup competitions.

The winger made six appearances in Liverpool’s pre-season games, scoring against Borussia Dortmund and Lyon, and will now spend the 2019-20 campaign on loan at the Vitality Stadium.

While it is little surprise that Wilson will be plying his trade in the Premier League this term – indeed, some Liverpool fans thought he should have been given a run in their first team – it is nonetheless bittersweet news for some Derby fans who longed for his return.

Here is some of the Pride Park faithful’s social media reaction to Wilson’s tweet:

According to BBC Sport, Bournemouth paid Liverpool a £2.5million loan fee for Wilson with another £500,000 due in bonuses depending on performance.

The Cherries appear to have signed the Reds ace as a season replacement for David Brooks and Dan Gosling, both of whom are expected to be out for around three months due to injury.
