Derby County’s Harry Wilson wants Liverpool return

Derby County signed Harry Wilson and Mason Mount on loan from Liverpool and Chelsea respectively in the summer of 2018.

Derby County winger Harry Wilson has told The Daily Mail that he wants to be at Liverpool next season.

Wilson has also said that he has been in touch with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who has been sending him text messages.

The 21-year-old winger joined Championship club Derby on loan from Premier League club Liverpool in the summer of 2018.

The Wales international has made 23 starts and two substitute appearances in the Championship for the Rams so far this campaign so far this season, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

Wilson has also said that his 20-year-old Derby teammate Mason Mount wants to be at Chelsea next season.

The England Under-21 international joined the Rams on loan from Chelsea in the summer of 2018.

Wilson told The Daily Mail: “He (Klopp) dropped me a text to tell me he’d watched it (the match against Manchester United) and he was delighted with the performance — and the goal!

“A couple of weeks ago there was another message saying, ‘Good result, good goal — keep going’. When you get those texts, it is a massive boost. You know you aren’t forgotten.”

The youngster added: “The main focus this season is to get promoted with Derby. But Mason’s goal is to play for Chelsea and my goal is to play for Liverpool. I have always felt like a Liverpool player. Everything is going along the right path.”

Promising future

Wilson has been superb for Derby so far in the Championship, and the winger does have the talent and potential to make it big at Liverpool, even though he is going to face stiff competition.
