Leeds United have been linked with a move for Derby County striker Chris Martin in the January transfer window.
According to Sky Sports, Leeds are interested in signing Martin on loan from Championship rivals Derby for the rest of the season (click here to read more).
Martin may be struggling to get into the current Derby team at the moment, but there is no doubt that the 29-year-old would be a brilliant signing for Leeds.

The West Yorkshire outfit need a proven goalscorer in order to enhance their chances of finishing in the top six of the Championship this season, and the Scotland international is just that.
However, it would be foolish of Derby to sanction any deal, even a loan one, that would see Martin join Leeds. After all, the Whites are very much in the race for the playoffs, just as the Rams are.

True, there may be a nine-point gap between second-placed Derby and seventh-placed Leeds, but that could close should Martin make the switch to Elland Road.
Derby are by no means guaranteed of finishing in the top two of the Championship this season, and they should not let Martin join promotion rivals Leeds in the January transfer window.
