Derby County could strengthen their defence by going for Gary Cahill, who is set to leave on loan.

Frank Lampard should try and persuade Chelsea defender Gary Cahill to Derby County in the January transfer window.
Cahill is set to leave Chelsea on loan, according to the Guardian, as he has barely featured this season.
The England international is attracting interest from some bottom-half Premier League sides, and Aston Villa.
But Derby could have an advantage in the race to sign him, as they have Lampard in charge.
Lampard and Cahill share a close bond after their years as teammates at Stamford Bridge.
And Lampard would be wise to see if a move to Pride Park would appeal to Cahill.

Cahill could solidify Derby’s defence for the second half of the season, and he would offer great experience and knowhow.
Richard Keogh has proved slightly error prone in Derby’s defence so far this term, and Cahill would surely prove to be a more reliable option if he was to sign on.
And if Cahill is made available by Chelsea, then Derby should be at the front of the queue in the race to sign him.
