The Rams legend and club ambassador steered Guyana into the finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Derby County legend Michael Johnson has helped Guyana break new ground and make history as he coached the Golden Jaguars to qualification for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Prior to Saturday night’s game, Guyana had claimed a 3-0 win over Barbados, while Turks and Caicos Islands were hammerred 8-0 to set up a crunch clash against Belize.
Neil Danns opened the scoring for the Golden Jaguars in the 16th minute and, even though Elroy Kuylen equalised for Belize, Emery Welshman grabbed the winner before the break.
Guyana managed to get through a tense second half to run out 2-1 winners and qualified for the Gold Cup, which will be held in Costa Rica, America and a Caribbean country later this year.

Johnson was at Derby between 2003 and 2008, making 148 appearances, according to Transfermarkt, and also played for the likes of Birmingham City, Sheffield Wednesday and Notts County, as well as the Jamaica national team.
