Derby County loanee impressed for Wigan in their match against Nottingham Forest.
Jamie Hanson at Derby County earlier this season
If there was one way for Derby County full-back Jamie Hanson to impress while out on loan, it was to help shut out rivals Nottingham Forest.
Hanson did just that at the weekend, restricting Forest’s high profile forward line and helping loan side Wigan keep a vital clean sheet in a 0-0- draw.
The 21-year-old signed for the Latics in January, having been in and out of the Rams’ line-up this season, making six league and cup appearances.
Hanson, who can also play in midfield, was terrific at the weekend for Wigan, touching the ball more times than any player on the pitch.
| Passing Accuracy | Won Tackle | Interception Won | Effective Clearance | Crossing Accuracy | Touches | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jamie Hanson | 62% | 3 | 8 | 1 | 11% | 115 | 90 |
Hanson touched the ball 115 times and made eight interceptions, a team high as his side out smarted Forest’s attack.
There was room for improvement for the loanee going forward, only managing a 62 per cent passing accuracy, but defensively Hanson’s tenacious performance helped him stand out.
It was only his second start for Wigan, and fifth overall appearance, and he should hope he has earned a sustained run in the side.
