Grant moved from Stoke to Derby on summer deadline day.
Derby County goalkeeper Lee Grant wants to remain at loan club Stoke City beyond the end of his current spell, the Daily Star reports.
Deposed as Rams number 1 by Scott Carson last season, Grant became a shock singing for the Premier League side on deadline day, following an injury to Jack Butland.
The surprises didn’t stop there however, with the 33-year-old turning in a man-of-the-match display in Stoke’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford earlier this month.
Butland is expected to return to full fitness later this year, although Grant retains the hope that his stay in the Potteries will be extended beyond 3 January.
“There were no promises that I was going to be a number two or a starting goalkeeper, so the job for me will be no different when Jack’s fit,” the Stoke loanee said, as quoted by the Daily Star.

“My goals won’t change. My goals are to work hard and to hopefully do enough so the club will hopefully look to extend the loan until the end of the season because I want to be here beyond 3 January.
“I’m enjoying my time, but I have to take things day-by-day, week-by-week. So I have to look at Sunderland, not looking when Jack is fit, or beyond Sunderland.”
Grant’s Derby contract expires at the end of the campaign and with only half- or full-season loans permitted for Premier League clubs, any extension would effectively end his iPro Stadium career, with a new deal there seemingly unlikely.
The former England Under-21 international began his career with the Rams but left for Sheffield Wednesday in 2007, returning via a three-year spell at Burnley in 2013.
