Derby County fans want Frank Lampard to make Kasey Palmer his first signing, if he does take the job at Pride Park.

Lampard has been installed as the bookies’ favourite to take over from Gary Rowett.

Although the Chelsea legend has no managerial experience, the rumours have created excitement among Derby supporters.

Kasey Palmer of Huddersfield Town during the Premier League match between Everton and Huddersfield Town at Goodison Park on December 2, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

And one of the reasons why Derby fans are so intrigued by Lampard’s potential appointment is the hope that he could bring Palmer back.

Palmer joined Derby on loan in January, but was rarely played by Gary Rowett, despite impressing every time he was on the pitch.

The Rams fans really took to Palmer in his limited game time, and they have urged Lampard to use his contacts at Chelsea to bring the youngster back, if he does take charge.

If Derby do move for Palmer again in the summer, they could face competition for his signature.

The Daily Mail report that Norwich City and Sheffield United are both chasing the attacking midfielder, with both sides believing he could make them more threatening next term.
