Arsenal are in the market for a new left back, as Kieran Tierney needs cover and competition.

The Scot is undoubtedly one of Arsenal’s best players, but he has endured a couple of niggling injury woes this season.

With Sead Kolasinac having no future under Mikel Arteta, it’s now time for Arsenal to find a left back who can compete with Tierney for years to come.

The Daily Mail claim that Arsenal are now looking into signing Derby County prospect Lee Buchanan, picking him out as a potential summer signing.

Buchanan, 20, was born in nearby Mansfield and came up through the Derby ranks, with 43 first-team appearances now under his belt.

Buchanan has been part of a struggling Derby side, but has shown the potential to become a Premier League player, and Arsenal seemingly agree.

Derby fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the rumours, with some a little surprised as he isn’t even a key player for the Rams yet, never mind being ready for a Premier League move.

Others believe that Buchanan would jump at the chance to join a Premier League team, predicting that ‘he’ll be gone’ if Arsenal come knocking.

Some even want to sell Buchanan and bring him back on loan, with another suggestion that selling him will help pay off Derby’s outstanding debts for Krystian Bielik having signed him from Arsenal in 2019.
