Derby County have been linked with re-appointing Steve McClaren as manager, by The Telegraph.
The Rams have suspended Nigel Pearson pending a club investigation, and the former Leicester City manager looks likely to leave the club.
McClaren is out of work after being sacked by Newcastle United in February, after a disastrous spell at St James’ Park, which led to the side’s relegation.

It was McClaren’s interest in the Newcastle job which proved his undoing at Derby County in 2014/15.
The former England boss had the side in contention to win automatic promotion, but their form fell away, while rumours over McClaren’s future swirled.
A last day of the season disaster saw Derby miss out on the play-offs entirely, and it was no surprise when he took the Newcastle job.

While his failure at Newcastle was amusing to Derby fans, their own predicament is no laughing matter.
The Rams have had a terrible start to the season, winning only two league games, and they sit in 20th place.
