Derby County fans are largely keen to see Marcus Maddison signed from Peterborough United, although some are less convinced.

TeamTalk claim that Derby are after Maddison, who has a release clause in his contract set at £2.5 million.

Derby have already dealt with Posh this summer, having brought Jack Marriott to Pride Park.

And many Rams fans are hopeful that Maddison will also be added to their squad.

Derby already have added a lot of quality to their forward line this season, but Marriott could add further quality.

Frank Lampard is demanding Derby play with a highly patient approach, and Maddison would have the passing ability to cope in such a system.

Maddison has been one of the standout players in League One over the past few seasons, with the Posh winger racking up huge numbers of assists.

Maddison was left off Posh’s pre-season tour and didn’t feature in their first game of the campaign, with his departure looking highly likely.
