The youngster has failed to nail down a starting place in Derby’s team in recent seasons, despite showing a lot of initial promise.
And there are a host of Derby fans now hoping that Frank Lampard simply offloads the 22-year-old this summer.
Hanson has been around Derby’s first-team for a number of years now, but has never managed to forge a position for himself.
The academy graduate has played in both defence and midfield, but his form seems to have dipped recently.
Derby have generally focused on improving their attack throughout the summer so far, but Lampard may well look to bring in defenders over the remainder of the transfer window.
Hanson was loaned out by Derby to Wigan last year, and that may now be the best course of action with the youngster again.
