Leeds are being investigated by the EFL.

The EFL has launched formal investigation into Leeds United ‘spying’ on competitors Derby County.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa admitted last week he had sent a club official to watch the Rams train, after Derby had to pause their training session as a man was escorted away.

Derby boss Frank Lampard hit out ahead of and after the 2-0 defeat to Leeds.

The EFL has now confirmed it is investigating the matter. Leeds have been asked to provide their observations of the events.

Leeds fans are fearful of a heavy handed points deduction, but there is nothing in the rulebook against spying.

The Whites could be in breach of a ‘club’s charter’. Yet there is no precedent for punishment for a situation like this.

Leeds fans were obviously incandescent at the fact the EFL are looking into potential wrongdoing.

Derby supporters had mixed views. Some want the matter to go away, others are amused at Leeds potentially being reprimanded…
