Pearce was making his third straight appearance as Derby County went down 2-0 against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Derby County fans are reacting on Twitter to Alex Pearce’s Wolverhampton Wanderers showing.
Having only played once in the league all season, Pearce returned to the Derby side in place of Richard Keogh after last month’s 4-1 defeat against Sunderland.
But after back-to-back wins without conceding, the Irishman’s luck ran out at the home of the league leaders, who recorded a comfortable 2-0 win courtesy of goals from Diogo Jota and Ruben Neves.

And his misery was compounded when, live on national television, he cleared the ball into his own face late in the first half – footage of which has since gone viral.
This is what Derby fans on Twitter are saying about Pearce…
(Not everyone shared those views however…)
The result has not affected Derby’s league position, although they are level on points with sixth-placed Millwall albeit with a game in hand.
The Rams can ill afford many more slip-ups however, with only five points separating them from 11th-placed Preston North End.
Should Keogh return for Derby?
