Vydra is Derby County’s top scorer with 18 goals this season.

Matej Vydra of Derby scores the first goal during the Sky Bet Championship match between Derby County and Nottingham Forest at iPro Stadium on October 15, 2017 in Derby, England.

Some Derby County supporters are worried they will be forced to sell their top scorer, Matej Vydra, this summer.

Vydra has struck 18 times in 33 games this campaign, helping Gary Rowett’s team into the Championship play-off positions.

The Rams have suffered an all too familiar dip in form of late, however, leaving them at risk of being left behind by some of the teams around them.

And another failure to go up could have repercussions after Derby chairman Mel Morris vowed on Wednesday not to make ‘significant investments’ should the worst occur (BBC Radio Derby).

Derby chairman Mel Morris looks on before the Sky Bet Championship match between Cardiff City and Derby County at Cardiff City Stadium on September 27, 2016 in Cardiff, Wales.

The Rams have sold Jeff Hendrick, Will Hughes and Thomas Ince for a combined fee well in excess of £20 million over the past two summers.

And as far as the following County fans are concerned, Vydra could follow in the coming months.

Here’s what they’re saying on Twitter.
