Curtis Davies is said to be on the verge of leaving Hull City to join Gary Rowett at Derby County.

Derby County’s signing of Curtis Davies from Hull City for just £500,000 (Daily Mirror), could turn out to be one of the bargain buys of the summer.
Davies has a clause in his contract which meant he was available for a cut-price, following Hull’s relegation from the Premier League.

Derby have now taken full advantage, by making a move for the powerful centre-back.
And Gary Rowett can feel very satisfied with his side’s business, now they have completed a deal for Davies.

In the current market, a player of Davies’ quality is worth considerably more than half a million pounds.
Davies boasts Premier League experience, and knows how to get promoted from the Championship.
The 32-year-old will considerably enhance Derby’s defensive options.
And, at the end of the season, it may be that Davies’ signing turns out to be the best one made by any Championship club this summer.
