Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County played out a 0-0 draw at Hillsborough.

Paul Clement has told the Yorkshire Post that Sheffield Wednesday are unlikely to concede many goals this season, if they continue to be as resolute as they were against his Derby County side on Sunday.

Wednesday and Derby played out a 0-0 at Hillsborough on Sunday, and the Rams’ boss was impressed by the host’s defensive strength.

He did, however, suggest that they would need to improve going forward – if they were to win more matches this season.

“If they (Wednesday) keep playing like that, they will be very difficult to break down,” he said. “But it’s about scoring goals as well, though.”

Wednesday have proven to be a very tough obstacle to overcome this season, and they have now lost just two of their last 16 matches.

The Owls are looking to be outsiders for promotion, and they currently are only outside the play-off spaces on goal difference.

Wednesday have been impressively robust throughout the campaign so far, and they have conceded on just 22 occasions in the 19 matches they have played this season.

Derby, meanwhile, have also been in impressive form of late, and they have climbed the Championship table at a rapid rate.

The Rams are now in third place, and they are closing in on an automatic promotion spot.
