Derby County’s George Evans was selected to start by Frank Lampard last night.

Evans was selected to start in Derby’s match against Ipswich Town last night, but had to be taken off during the first-half.
The midfielder damaged his knee and Lampard admits that he was sad about the way the night ended for his new signing.
“It’s disappointing news for George that he had to come off,” he said. “It’s a knee injury, that’s clear, but we don’t know the full extent.
“He was playing really well and I thought losing him, going down to ten men for a bit, changed the tide slightly. Hopefully it won’t be too long for him.”

Even without Evans on the pitch, Derby managed to pick up the three points against Ipswich last night.
The Rams picked up an important 2-0 victory over Paul Hurst’s side to end their two-game winless run in the league.
Evans was replaced by Joe Ledley when he went off injured last night, and the Welsh international could well be set for a run of starts for Lampard’s side now.
Derby are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Preston North End on Saturday.
