Nottingham Forest have already been credited with interest in the Peterborough United stars, unlike Derby County.

Derby County are among the favourites to sign rumoured Nottingham Forest targets Jack Marriott and Marcus Maddison this summer, after Bet Victor opened markets on the Peterborough United pair’s next clubs.

Forest have been linked with moves for both Marriott (Daily Mail) and Maddison (Sunday People) in recent weeks, after Peterborough lost ground on the League One play-offs.

But the Reds could have competition from rivals Derby – among others – for both players, if the latest bookies odds are anything to go by.

The Rams, like Nottingham Forest are 6/1 for Marriott’s signature – behind Leeds United (4/1) and Sheffield Wednesday (5/1) – while the East Midlands pair are 4/1 favourites to land Maddison – ahead of Birmingham City and Aston Villa (both 6/1).

Derby could have the upper hand on Forest if they gain promotion this season – although Rams owner Mel Morris has vowed not to make any significant investments should they fail to do so.

Marriott – who has scored 32 goals this season – is valued at more than £5 million by Peterborough owner Darragh MacAnthony, while Maddison – who has scored or made 35 – is said to have a £2 million release clause.
