Former Chelsea midfielder Jody Morris has admitted he got a tackle on David Batty badly wrong… 17 years ago.

Morris tweeted the footage of him sliding studs up into Leeds maestro Batty, a painful looking challenge.

Stopping short of actually making an apology, Morris simply joked that he ‘slightly mistimed’ the tackle.

To Batty’s credit he simply gets up and walks it off.

Had Neymar been on the receiving end then he would probably still be rolling about 17 years on.

Morris is currently a coach at Derby County working under ex-Chelsea teammate Frank Lampard.

This particular game took place in 2001, with Leeds scoring two goals late to have the last laugh with the 2-0 win.
