The Rams midfielder, on loan from Liverpool, has suffered a hip injury, according to the Derby boss, who elaborated on what it means for the player.

Derby County boss Frank Lampard has moved to allay fears regarding an injury suffered by star loanee Harry Wilson in the 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough on New Year’s Day.
The 21-year-old, on loan at Pride Park from Liverpool, has been sensational this season, netting 10 goals and also registering two assists en route to sixth in the Championship table after 26 games (Transfermarkt), including the opener against Boro
However, there was concern when Wilson needed treatment in the first half against Tony Pulis’ charges and, although he was initially able to continue, he went down again in the second half and was replaced by Tom Huddlestone.
Following the substitution, some Derby fans were incredibly concerned with their star player’s fitness and took to Twitter to make their opinions heard:
Such is Wilson’s importance to Derby that any long spell on the sidelines could potentially compromise the Rams’ hopes of making the playoffs, but on Wednesday, Lampard admitted that he was optimistic over the diagnosis and prognosis of the on-loan ace.
“He has got a problem with his hip, an impingement on his hip which I think is good news, I hope, because it is not a muscle,” the Rams boss told the Derby Telegraph.
“So he will be assessed over the next couple of days and we will see if he is available for the weekend.”
Up next for Derby is an FA Cup third-round tie against Southampton at Pride Park, before a return to Championship action the following Friday with a trip to Leeds United.
