Derby County have confirmed the additions of former West Ham United and Bradford City youngsters to their Under-23 side.
The goalkeeper George Sykes-Kenworthy (ex-Bradford) and the attacking midfielder Louie Watson (ex-West Ham) will continue their careers at Derby, having become free agents in the summer.
The pair, who are 21 and 19 respectively, joined their former clubs as primary school children.
And neither had, until now, been employed by any other club except for the one from which they came.
Sykes-Kenworthy and Watson are the latest recruits in what has been a busy 2020 for Derby U23s.
They follow Cian Kelly, Emmanuel Idem, Olamide Ibrahim, Bobby Duncan and Isaac Hutchinson into the Rams’ Moor Farm training centre.
In doing so, Watson reunites with his former West Ham teammate Jahmal Hector-Ingram at Derby.
Hector-Ingram, who made the same move 16 months ago, has gone on to appear twice for the Derby first team.
And the striker’s progress is something both Sykes-Kenworthy and Watson will hope to emulate in the coming few months.
