Speaking on his podcast, Gary Neville has given his verdict on Luis Diaz after his performance against Manchester United on Tuesday.

The Colombian was utterly brilliant once again at Anfield. He scored and assisted against the Red Devils as he continued his immense start to life in England.

Understandably, as a Manchester United fan, Neville didn’t love seeing Diaz play so brilliantly for the Red Devils’ biggest rivals, stating that it’s utterly depressing to see him playing so well.

What’s been said?

Neville spoke about Diaz.

“Honestly, it’s utterly depressing. From the moment I saw him play in the Carabao Cup final, which was the first time I’d seen the lad live, until you see a player live and particularly when I look at him, he’s playing off the left-hand side and I look at it from a right-back’s perspective, so, I have a pretty good eye about what I wouldn’t have liked and what I would like – I thought ‘oh my God, what a player he is,” Neville said

“His tenacity, his skill, his pace, his fight, his spirit, everything. He’s cost not a lot again. They have found another one.”

Painful

If Neville finds Diaz’s brilliant start to life at Liverpool painful, just imagine how Tottenham fans must feel.

The Colombian was very close to joining Spurs before Liverpool made a late swoop for the winger, and while Tottenham managed to land Dejan Kulusevski, it must still hurt to see Diaz playing so well for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Liverpool’s consistent excellence in recruitment must be frustrating for all of their Premier League rivals.
